The PAX A80 features a full color touchscreen like modern smartphones, but also incorporates a traditional physical button PIN pad. This provides long term durability, physical feedback and the backlit keys make it ease to use in any lighting environment. The combination of touchscreen and PIN pad make it user-friendly, long-lasting and elegant.
For payment options, the PAX A80 does not give any let downs. The right side of the terminal features a magnetic stripe reader for traditional swipe payments. Located at the bottom, there is a chip card slot for newer EMV based payments. Are your customers a little more on the forefront of payment technology? No worries, the PAX A80 also accepts contactless payments via it’s top located NFC reader. The A80 offers all the convenience of modern payment methods but at a significantly more cost efficient price than other terminals available.
Additional Functionality
The A80 terminal also lets you Scan QR code payments and accept e-wallets like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay. Get a swivel & tilt stand if you are using the device in a set location. This allows you to have it mounted at your front counter but turn it to customers for entering a PIN.
Additional accessories are on the market, such as cases to protect your device and charging docks, however, these are only available via third party vendors. You should always check the compatibility of accessories with your specific device before placing purchases from a third party.
Unlike many terminals on the market, the A80 runs on a custom modified version of the Android operating system. This means less time learning a complicated, not user-friendly interface, menu system and options. It also unlocks access to Android apps that let you make the most of your terminal.
